The 2014 Boeing Indoor Championships saw some great performances by the Flying 'M' crew.

Youth athlete, Jared Allary, was in a field all by himself this weekend in the youth men's weight toss.  Jared broke the meet record in the youth men's weight toss with a huge throw of 18.41m.  Jared was a double gold medallist as he also won the youth men's shot competition with a throw of 12.96m,  Jared has had a busy indoor season as he also competes for his high school, Oak Park, in the Athletics Manitoba High School series.  Watch out for Jared at upcoming high school series meets over the next few weeks.

Another record breaking performance was brought in by midget athlete Taylor Heald who smashed the provincial and meet record in the midget women's shot put, with a throw of 13.83m.  Taylor has had a great year so far with both the 3kg and 4kg shots.

The Flying 'M' senior women also brough in their share of the hardware in the throws events with a 2nd through to 7th place finish in the weight toss (Karen Ferris, Courney Allary, Michelle Ocran, Alli Balasko, Jolene Dupuis and Alexa Matwyczuk)

Some of those ladies joined their coach, Jill Seymour, in a very entertaining shot put competition.  The Flying 'M' women finished 1, 3, 4-6 (Michelle Ocran, Jolene Dupuis, Alexa Matwyczuk, Jill Seymour and Karen Ferris)

Another successful day was had by Garrett Bridgeman.  Garrett competed in 4 events over the weekend and came out with a gold medal performance in the midget men's long jump with a jump of 5.00m.  Garrett was also 4th in the 200m and 300m and 9th in the 60m,

Congratulations to all of our Flying 'M' athletes on a great indoor season!

The Flying 'M' Athletic Club was on the road this past weekend.  A convoy of vehicles traveled along the trans-canada highway on a bright and sunny day all the way to Regina, Saskatchewan for the SGI Canada Indoor Games.

The track meet was a success for our athletes.  Competing in a different city, in a different venue, under different conditions makes our athletes more prepared for the future.

Some highlights from the group include:

Michelle Ocran - 1st in the women's shot put

Jared Allary - 1st in the youth men's weight toss

                    - 2nd in the youth men's shot

Garrett Bridgeman - 3rd in the youth men's long jump

Looking forward to a Grand Prix meet in Winnipeg and then the Boeing Indoor Classic coming up in March!
